The ERGOSE Railways Modernization Project

THIS FUTURPROOF HIGHLY INNOVATIVE RAIL ENGINEERING & AUTOMATION  PROJECT  WAS DESIGNED DEVELOPED & EXECUTED ON BEHALF OF THE CONSORTIUM (TOMH-ALSTOM), TESTED, INSTALLED, CERTIFIED AT SIL 4 LEVEL & PUT IN OPERATION FOR "ERGOSE" (The Greek Railways Engineering and Planning Organization, the end-user) IN AXARNES (ATHENS) SKA CTC (Central Traffic Control Operational Command & Control Centre) and in several preselected track circuit stations between Athens and Larissa

Α Railways Engineering and Automation Integrated Solution comprising the CTC (Supervisory Data Visualization Center with SCADA Central Traffic Control, Command & Control, RTU Master, Simulator, NIS, Train describer, …), the Safe Giga Ethernet Micro Switch network, the Track Circuit Smart Stations’ Nodes

(3 new RTUs Slaves in one compact Node), the Signaling interoperation, the old  RTUs (TEML 41 & 32) Legacy Systems Modernization & their protocols conversion (shown in detail below) to interconnect and interoperate with the new S2N Nodes, the connectivity with the ETCS Systems & the Rolling Stock on Board Systems (ATC, GSMR, … ) and designed to cover all ERTMS and Digital Interlocking (Eurolocking) requirements & relevant European directives in the event of a future upgrade.           

The TRAM of Athens 

A turn-key Intelligent Automation based Project designed, developed, executed, certified and put in operation, on behalf of the Contractor TERNA and STASY (the Urban Transportation Organization of Athens) embeds the OCC (Operational Control Center), Telematics, Wireless Communications, IBIS, the track circuit’s 98 Smart Stations, Depot Management, Traffic Simulation, Preventive Maintenance, Scheduling & Roistering, Traffic Priority System, Passenger Information Systems, Tracking & Telematics, the CTC (Central Traffic Control), Command and Control, the RFID for Rolling Stock localization, the smart IoT devices network, the Interconnection & Interoperability of the rolling stock, on board systems interconnected with the Siemens & Areva Urban Traffic Signalling Systems to manage the traffic priority functionality.

Wind - Energy Park Automation Solution

Hail Protection Automated Solution

 

This integrated Automated solution was installed in especially designed sound shooting "guns" (sound waves of pressurized air) triggering the ignition of acetylene gas released by each gun, installed in each of the 94 stations located in agricultural sites throughout Greece. This air wave shoots in the air at 100s of thousands of meters height against any threatening Hail-Bearing cloud. The communication and activation of any one unit occurs wirelessly from the operational Control Centre in real time using telematics. The functionalities and other operational tasks are performed by signals & commands transmitted or exchanged through a network of smart IoT sensors under the supervision of a Scada System and PLC controllers. A high level software engineering suit of programs bundles up the complete solution.
